TOPIC: All-Round Success [Open Heaven for Teens 13 November 2022]

MEMORISE: This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Joshua 1:8

READ: James 2:22-25

  1. Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
  2. And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
  3. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
  4. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Hebrews 10:1-39, Ezekiel 4-6

MESSAGE:

Everyone wants to be successful, but unfortunately, few eventually are. Many students don’t achieve success in their academics but are successful in extra-curricular activities such as sports. Some others achieve great success only in their academics but are difficult children at home. You can have all-round success and the secret is in the word of God.

To succeed, you must live strictly by what the Bible says. This is why God told Joshua not to allow the Book of the Law to depart from his mouth. It is wisdom to read the Bible and abide by its dictates. I have learnt a lot and am still learning from the word of God. It was through the word of God that I learnt how to pay my tithe.so that I can have more. I also learnt how to spread the ministry to other parts of the world. As a student, the word of God will teach you how to be hardworking, study hard, flee every appearance of evil, keep good friends, manage your time well, obey your parents and live in holiness. Therefore, read, study, meditate and live by the word of God if you truly desire all-round success.

ACTION POINT:

Make a promise to live by the word of God henceforth and ask the Holy Spirit for help.

HYMN: Standing On The Promises Of God

  1. Standing on the promises of Christ, our King,
    Thro’ eternal ages let His praises ring;
    Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
    Standing on the promises of God.

CHORUS:
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God, my Saviour;
Standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.

  1. Standing on the promises that cannot fail.
    When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
    By the living word of God I shall prevail,
    Standing on the promises of God.
  2. Standing on the promises I now can see
    Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;
    Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,
    Standing on the promises of God.
  3. Standing on the promises of Christ, the Lord,
    Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,
    Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
    Standing on the promises of God.
