Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose.

Today’s Word

Do you realize the power that’s in the words you speak today? Your words can nourish but can also kill. Don’t let your tongue kill your dreams, kill your personality, kill your self-esteem, or kill your value. When you criticize yourself and talk about your flaws and lacks, you’re pushing down all the good things God put in you. Those words will keep your personality from blossoming, your beauty from shining, your gifts from flourishing. If you have a negative mouth, you’re going to have a negative life.

Let your words nourish your life. You should be your best encourager and speak the words that God says about you: “I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I’m a masterpiece. I’m valuable. I’m confident. I’m creative. I am well able to do what God has called me to do.” God says, “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.” You can’t love others the way you’re supposed to if you don’t first love yourself and agree with what He says about you. Don’t say another negative word that diminishes, devalues, or lessens who you are.

Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that my words have the creative power to nourish my life. Help me to give my faith a voice by speaking words of life and blessing over myself and my future every day. I declare that I will speak the words that You have spoken about me in Your Word. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
