Topic: Judgement Is Coming [Open Heavens for Teens 25 May 2019]

Memorise: “Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.” – 1 Corinthians 3:13

Read: 1 Corinthians 3:11-15

11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.

14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Bible In One Year: 1 Chronicles 14-16, John 9:24-41

MESSAGE:

Death seals the fate of an individual. Wherever you land at death is where you will live forever. It’s either death of Jesus comes to take you home when rapture takes place. These are the only two exit points from thus world into eternity. Dear child, where will you spend your eternity? It is a decision that you have to consciously make and stay committed to that decision and make sure that your actions will lead you to that decision.

After death, judgement follows. Hebrews 9:27 says:

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”

As believers, our works will also be judged. 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 says every work you have done will pass through God’s fire. Any work that does not meet God’s standard will be burnt into nothing. So, the issue is not just working or living, but working and living to meet God’s standard or expectation. Any work done with the wrong motive will be burnt. Everything done without the aim of glorifying God will be burnt. You still have time now to make amends.

Key Point:

To be forewarned is to be forearmed. Making it to heaven takes daily conscious efforts.

Hymn 11:

1 Stand up! Stand up for Jesus,
Ye soldiers of the Cross!
Lift high His royal banner,
It must not suffer loss.
From victory unto victory
His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished,
And Christ is Lord indeed.

2 Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
The solemn watchword hear;
If while ye sleep he suffers,
Away with shame and fear.
Where’re yeah meet with evil,
Within you or without,
Charge for the God of battles,
And put the foe to rout.

3 Stand up! Stand up for Jesus!
Stand in His strength alone;
The arm of flesh will fail you,
Ye dare not trust your own.
Put on the gospel armour,
And watching unto prayer;
Where duty calls, or danger,
Be never wanting there.

4 Stand up! Stand up for Jesus!
The strife will not be long;
This day the noise of battle,
The next the victor’s song.
To him that overcometh
A crown of life shall be;
He with the King of glory
Shall reign eternally.
