Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty….— Ephesians 6:18 (AMPC)

Say Your Prayers and Cast Your Cares

If we would follow God’s advice to say our prayers and cast our cares, our lives would be much more peaceful and enjoyable. But if we pray and worry, we negate the effectiveness of prayer.

When we pray, we invite God to take charge of the things that concern us and to work on our behalf, and tremendous power is made available. It is God’s power, and all things are possible with Him. Our worry, anxiety, and care won’t solve our problems. If they do anything at all, they only make them less endurable and more painful. We are instructed in God’s Word to cast all of our cares on Him, for He cares for us affectionately and watchfully (see 1 Peter 5:7).

Casting our care is evidence that we truly trust God. It shows humility on our part when we refuse to worry and be anxious about the things we have given to God in prayer. Our refusal to worry says that we know we cannot solve our own problems and we are waiting on God to work. Saying your prayers and casting your cares must go together if you want to see God’s power at work in your life.

Prayer Starter: Father, teach me not to worry and be anxious, but to cast all of my care on You after I have prayed and asked You to solve my problems
