Judges 13:2-3 & 8 (MSG) There was a man named Manoah from Zorah… His wife was barren and childless. The angel of god appeared to her and told her, “I know that you are barren and childless, but you’re going to become pregnant and bear a son. 8Manoah prayed to God: “Master, let the man of God you sent come to us again and teach us how to raise this boy who is to be born.”
Every child is special and a gift from God, Psa. 127:3. God has given us a great privilege to have and raise children and He always wants to give us direction on how we can understand and help direct each of our children towards the right path for their lives. God can give you this direction even before you have children. As w pray unto God like Manoah did in our text above, God will guide us by His word and by His Spirit. As we continue to humble ourselves and seek God for His wisdom and grace, we will be empowered, James 1:5, James 4:6.
The Bible says, “Train up a child in the way he should go [and in keeping with his individual gift], and when he is old he will not depart from it, Prov. 22:6 (AMP). Know the gifts of your children and ask God to show you the things He wants to do through their lives. If you seek God, He sill show them to you. IN referencing Jochebed (Moses’ mother), Exodus 2:2 says, “And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.” She saw something about her child that caused her to make some major sacrifices for the future of the child. There is no doubt that the way Moses was raised played a great role in him realizing his destiny and being a blessing to the nation of Israel. God also has a great destiny for our children. Keep praying for your children and continue to love them and bring them up in the way of the Lord.
