Matthew 14:28-31 (GNB) The Peter spoke up. “Lord, if it is really you, order me to come out on the water to you.” “Come!” answered Jesus. So Peter got out of the boat and started walking to Jesus. But when he noticed the strong wind, he was afraid and started to sink down in the water. “Save me, Lord!” he cried. At once Jesus reached out and grabbed hold of him and said, “What little faith you have! Why did you doubt?”

Our God has promised us this year that as we keep our focus on Christ, we will continue to manifest His glory. The devil doesn’t want us to manifest the glory of Christ so he will try to distract us. IN our text above, Peter’s faith was weakened when he lost his focus in Christ and focused on the winds. Fierce winds of doctrines will blow to try and toss you to and fro, Eph. 4:14-15. Tribulation and persecution will try to distract you. The cares of this life and the deceitfulness of riches will try to distract you, Matt. 13:20-23. Negative rains, floods and winds are going to violently beat against your life, but as you remain focused on Christ by hearing and doing His word, you will remain strong and steadfast, Matt. 7:24-25.

Winds of strife and offences will come to shake you, but if you determine not to lose sight of Christ and the grace of God He has made available to you, you will remain strong and you will continue manifesting the glory of Christ. Control yourself by the power of God’s Spirit in you. Bitterness and trouble often result form losing sight of God’s grace, Heb. 12:14-15. Be quick to hear, but slow to speak and slow to become angry. Remember that man’s anger does not work out God’s righteousness, James 1:19-20. Don’t even let challenges, activities and busyness distract you from Christ the way that Martha was distracted as Mary received grace from Jesus, Luke 10:38-40. Keep looking unto Jesus because He is the author and the finisher of your faith, Heb. 12:2. You will keep manifesting His glory.

Prayer:

Dear Father, I receive Your strength to stay calm and keep my focus on Jesus, no matter the circumstances that I face.
