Proverbs 18:20-21 A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Mark 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Your words are very powerful. You are what you are by your confessions and declarations to yourself. As a believer, what you say to yourself everyday when you awaken is very important. Isaiah 50:4 says, “the Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned. You have a tongue that is trained and empowered by the Spirit of God to speak words of life to yourself and to others. Control your tongue by the power of the Holy Spirit. Speak good words to your household and speak good words to all that are around you. Let people know you as a fountain of life-giving words. Let people encamp you to draw hope and strength.

Some people cannot speak well of others because they do not speak well of themselves. Declare that you are progressing. Declare that your path is shining brighter and brighter and that nothing can stop you. The words of God birth life while the words of the devil birth death. Words of faith and love birth life, while words of fear and hatred birth death. Let your words buildup people and not destroy them. Be God’s mouthpiece wherever you find yourself. Speak to mountains and situations and they will move. Preach the gospel. Heal the sick. Raise the dead. Cast out devils. Intentionally use the power of your words to spur life both in yourself and in others.

Action Point:

Declare that your tongue is controlled by the Spirit to speak life always and start speaking like into every are of your life.
