2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Isaiah 53:4 (GNB) But he endured the suffering that should have been ours, the pain that we should have borne. All the while we thought that his suffering was punishment sent by God.
You are the joy that was set before Jesus that caused Him to endure the cross and despise the shame of suffering and dying on the cross, Heb. 12:2. Because of you, Jesus became sin and was separated from God so that you might become righteous and able to stand confidently and boldly in your relationship with God. Jesus did not come down to this earth to live, suffer and die the way He did simply because He felt like it. He did it all for you; because of God’s great love for you.
For you, Jesus sacrificed His glorious wealth and riches and became poor so that you could become rich and experience His glory in every area of your life. Galatians 3:13 & 14 confirms that He became a curse for you so that you would be blessed! He was punished and chastised so that you would have peace. He endured many stripes for you to be healed and whole in every area of your life, Isa. 53 & 54. You have no reason to remain in sin, to be poor, to be under any curse, to be troubled or to be sick. You must understand and personalize the grace and blessings that Jesus has made available for you as a result of His willingness to live, suffer and die for you. In Isaiah 53:11a, the King James Version says, “He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied.” The Good News Bible, speaking of Jesus, adds that after a life of suffering, he will again have joy; he will know that he did not suffer in vain. The suffering and death of Christ will not be in vain in your life. His glory will manifest in your life.
