Psalm 16:1 (NLT) Keep me safe, O God for I have come to your refuge.
Proverbs 18:10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it and is safe.
Acts 16:31 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shall be saved, and thy house.
Psalm 91:1-3 (GNB) Whosoever goes to the Lord for safety, whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty, can say to Him, “you are my defender and protector. You are my God; in You I trust.” He will keep you safe…
Part of the meaning of the word ‘salvation’ in Romans 1:16, is ‘rescue’ or ‘safety’. By virtue of our faith in Jesus, we have been rescued and saved by God and now our lives are saved. We have been delivered from the power of darkness and we have been translated into the Kingdom of God’s dear Son, Col. 1:13. We become righteous by believing in Jesus and we remain safe in God’s tower of protection, Prov. 18:10. God is now our location. We now live inside God (Col. 3:3) and we abide under His shadow, Psalm 91:1.
We are also safe physically. God’s angels are watching over you (Psalm 91:10-12 and Psalm 34:7) and God Himself is watching over you. He that keeps you does not sleep nor slumber, Psalm 121:4. The Bible assures us except the Lord watches over a city, they that watch do so in vain, Psalm 127:1b.
Your future is also safe, both now and for eternity. “God cannot tell lies! And so His promises and vows are two things that can never be changed. We have run to God for safety. Now His promises should greatly encourage us to take hold of the hope that is right in front of us,” Hebrews 6:18 (CEV). As long as you keep your faith in Jesus, He will continue to keep you safe and saved. The Bible says “… He is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally, and for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them,” Heb. 7:25 (AMP).
