TOPIC: FAITH AND LOVE

WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 20, 2024

TEXT: Ephesians 1:15-16 (GNB), Colossians 1:3-4 (TPT)

KEY VERSE: Colossians 1 :3-4 (TPT)- “For we have heard of your devoted lives of faith in Christ Jesus and your tender love toward all his holy believers.”

INTRODUCTION: In the early church, the testimony of believers often highlighted
their faith in the Lord Jesus and their love for one another. Faith and love are
inseparable aspects of the Christian life, both rooted in the revelation of Christ
and His love for us.

STUDY:

1. Faith and Love Together:

• In the letters of Paul and other apostles, faith and love are frequently mentioned together as essential components of the Christian walk. Our faith in God’s love not only strengthens our faith but also compels us to love one another deeply. Do an exhaustive study on these using bible scriptures.

1. Breastplate of Faith and Love:

• Paul describes the breastplate of righteoUsness in Ephesians 6:14, which
  encompasses both faith and love. This indicates that faith and love are integral
  dimensions of righteousness that serve as a protective armor in our spiritual
  battles.

1. Faith Activated through Love:
   -Galatians 5:6 emphasizes that faith is activated, energized, and expressed
   through love. Our faith in Christ is intimately connected to our love for others. As we abide in Christ’s love, our faith is strengthened, and we are compelled to love one another sacrificially.
2. Spirit of Faith and Love:
   -Our faith and love are not based on feelings but on the revelation of Christ. The spirit of faith operates by believing in our hearts and confessing with our lips.
   Using Bible verses, expatiate on this.
3. Expressing Faith and Love:-Faith is expressed through actions aligned with God’s Word, while love is
   demonstrated through selfless acts of kindness, compassion, and forgiveness toward others.
   Discuss with your class, using bible verses.

CONCLUSION:
As believers, let us cultivate a life of both faith and love. As we walk in faith and love, we bring glory to God and fulfill the greatest commandments of loving God and loving ‘our neighbors as ourseives.
