Luke 5:1-3 & 10 …, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, and saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little form the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. 10And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.

At the time that Jesus asked Peter for permission to use his boat, Peter had no idea of the encounters he would have with Jesus and the great call and divine purpose that he was going to fulfil with his life. But his small act of obedience and willingness to allow Jesus into his boat ushered him into a life of extraordinary encounters and miracles. Beloved, God also has a lot in store for you that He ants to unveil and manifest in your life as you continue to yield yourself to Jesus. A time came that people were amazed at the boldness that Peter had because it could not be traced to his academic or social status or background. It was eventually traced to his being with Jesus, Acts 4:13. There is a glorious transformation taking place as you continue to focus on Christ and His glory, 2 Cor. 3:18.

When Jesus met the woman by the well, it wasn’t really because He wanted anything from her. It was because He wanted to give her something that she could never have imagined to receive on her own, John 4:10. Thank God that she yielded herself to Jesus because both she and her entire city were transformed! Your life will be transformed. Don’t allow the pain, disappointments or delay that you may have experienced to harden your heart and prevent you from yielding yourself to Jesus, Heb. 3:15. If Peter and his men had caught fish before that time, maybe they would not have been by the Lake when Jesus needed to us their boats to preach to the people. Jesus knows how to make all things work together for your good

Prayer Focus:

Surrender and yield yourself to Jesus right now. Ask Him to have His way in your life and receive His grace to obey Him.
