CARRY YOUR FAITH WITH YOU ANYWHERE YOU GO

“And all the king’s servants, that were in the king’s gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence.” Esther 3:2 (KJV)

From the account in the Book of Esther Chapter 3, Haman the mortal enemy of the Jews received a decree from the King of the Persian Empire to destroy all the children of God. And his reason was because Mordecai refused to bow to him. Mordecai said: ‘I will not bow to you because it is only God I should bow to.’ So, Mordecai would not compromise his faith. Even in a strange land, he carried his faith with him. At times, some of us do not carry our faith with us when we are under pressure. We surrender to the situational ethics! We do whatever obtains in that situation. No! That shouldn’t be!

Beloved, we are expected to be the light of the world anywhere we go. In any circumstance you find yourself, you ought to make everyone know that you are a believer. Even as a captive in a strange land, Mordecai refused to bow to any god except the living God.

The children of God are supposed to live as children of God, irrespective of where they find themselves. The scriptures declare that we “…are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light: which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.” 1 Peter 2:9 -10 (KJV).

Anywhere we find ourselves, God intends that we should function in such a way that proclaims His Glory. At times, you would suffer for your faith but that should not make you turn your back on God. The fact that you are going through challenges does not mean that God has abandoned you. He is always there with you.
