HOW TO LEVERAGE THE SACRIFICE OF JESUS
“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and
godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:’ 2 Peter 1:3
(KJV)
The million-dollar question is: How can the believer practically take the most advantage of
what Jesus did for us? The way to leverage Christ’s sacrifice is to take the lavish gifts that His
death, burial and resurrection provided for us and appropriate them to our different areas of
need. It is synonymous with having, for example, a cheque of $1 million, which you received
from your benefactor. In the same breath, you’re complaining of lacking food, shelter,
mobility and the basic needs of life. What are you waiting for? Go and cash your cheque from
the bank and meet all your needs!
Everything we require for life and godliness has already been provided through Christ.
Therefore, we accept and receive the healing, the prosperity, and all the blessings for every
need. The price has been paid on your behalf. So take that which belongs to you. However, to
enjoy these benefits that Jesus paid for you to have, you must know exactly what belongs to
you. You must have knowledge.
The late great evangelist of old, Charles Spurgeon, shared a story about a visit he paid to a
poor, old woman. This woman lived in abject poverty in a dingy home without electricity and
food. During his visit, he saw a framed document on the wall across the room, and he went
ahead to read it. The woman had been left a will; she had been bequeathed great wealth by a
wealthy woman she served. Unfortunately, she had no idea what she had because she couldn’t
read and write. And so, she suffered through life due to ignorance.
Beloved, you cannot afford to be ignorant of God’s promises if you are going to enjoy the
blessings of God. You must know all that your inheritance entails to enjoy it. Get into the
Word and take that which belongs to you.
