“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together”.
Romans 8:17KJV
Most likely, you are conversant with how joint account works. When the bank account is jointly owned by a couple, the mandate can be that, you can sign and your spouse can sign. Two of you can sign or any of you can sign. That is what it means to have a joint account. So what does it mean to be joint heirs with Jesus? It means that when I approach God in the Name of Jesus and I sign my signature, it is accepted because He has accepted me in the beloved. The same ‘Beloved’ that God called Jesus is what He has also called me. I am God’s beloved! So Satan cannot defeat me.
The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus made you a joint heir with Him. Ephesians 2:5-6 says, “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, {by grace ye are saved}; And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus”. That is what it means to be a joint heir. His death became your death. His resurrection became your resurrection. And now His position is yours too. By virtue of this position, His victory has become your victory. That means no devil can defeat you because you are joint heir with Christ.
It is written that I am the head, not the tail. So I cannot fail. If there was anytime we needed to use that power of ‘It is written’, it is now. The Word of God has no margin for failure. Your business must excel. Whether another person’s business is excelling or not, your own must prosper. It has to excel because we are in the hour when God is putting a distinction between those who serve Him and those who are not serving Him. You are a joint heir with Jesus; that means you are already on the winning side.
