“Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ”
1 Corinthians 11:1 KJV
If you study the life of Jesus, you will find several important facts that enabled Him to overcome the world, the flesh and the devil. First of all, Jesus always spent much time in prayer. That is why you must not stop going to church so that you can learn how to pray. More often than not, fervency in prayer is caught. You catch the spirit. As you join others and listen to them in prayer, you will know how to pray. Before long, you will also begin to exercise authority. That is why we don’t forsake the assembling of ourselves together.
Jesus prayed always. He moved from the prayer point to ministry point and from the ministry point back to his prayer point. Moreover, when He prayed, you will never catch Him praying the problem. Jesus prayed only the answer. Whatever God said, that’s what He prayed. When you pray anything contrary to the answer, it is a vain repetition. You will be repeating what the devil is doing in your life and that’s more like you are in agreement with him.
Secondly, Jesus spoke accurately and never with crooked speech. Even after prayers, anytime He wanted to talk about the problem, He never spoke about it in the negative sense. He always spoke positively. He would not allow any perverse thing to come out of His lips. Beloved, no corrupt communication should proceed out of your mouth but that which is good for edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearers. So, His conversation consisted of what God said, whether the situation appeared like it or not.
Thirdly, He always spoke the end result and not the problem. Never did He confess the present circumstances. He spoke the desired results.
Fourthly, He used the written Word to defeat the devil. He didn’t use His own ideas but the Word of God. The Word of God is alive and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword. Follow the pattern of Jesus and you will always have great results.
