GLORIOUS BENEFITS OF UNDERSTANDING THE LOVE OF GOD (1)

Jer 31:3 (AMPC), 2Corin 5:1 4-15
“The Lord appeared…to me… saying…I have loved you with an everlasting love;
therefore with loving-kindness have l drawn you … *We are ruled by Christ’s love for us. We are certain that if one person died for everyone else, then all of us have
died. And Christ did die for all of us. He died so we would no longer live for ourselves, but for the one who died and was raised to life for us.

One of the first benefits of our understanding of God’s love for us is that it produces a kind of divine pull in us toward God. God draws us to Himself with His loving kindness. There will be an increased desire to know God, fellowship with Him, and please Him. It was the prodigal son’s consciousness of how kind his father was to his servants that made him arise and decide to attempt approaching his father.
As he arose and went, his father ran to him, embraced him, and gave him such a wonderful reception he never expected, (Luke 15:17-23).
The love of God also influences the way we live our lives. When we keep in view or are conscious of God’s great love and mercies to us, it makes us want to present our bodies to him as living sacrifices that are holy and
acceptable unto him, (Rom. 1 2:1, NIV). After Jesus showed love to Peter by helping him catch an unbelievable amount of fish, Peter was broken and yielded himself to Jesus, (Luke 5:1-1 ). It is the love and kindness of God that makes us fear (honour and reverence) Him, (Psa. 130:3-4).
Apostle Paul described himself as someone who had obtained mercy to be faithful, (1 Cor. 7:25). Contrary to the opinion of some, our consciousness of God’s grace makes us love and serve Him more.

PRAYER:
Father, I desire to grow in my understanding and
conscioUsness of your love. Reveal your love more and more to me
