KEEP GAZING ON GOD’S BEAUTY

PSALMS 27:3-4 (TPT) My heart will not be afraid even if an army rises to attack. I know that you are there for me, so I will not be shaken. Here’s the one thing… I seek above all else: I want the privilege of living with him every moment in his house, finding the sweet loveliness of his face, filled with awe, delighting in his glory and grace. I want to live my life so close to him that he takes pleasure in my every prayer.

The word glory can also be defined by words like beauty, honour, attractiveness or desirable nature and qualities. One of the words used to define glory in the Bible is ‘splendor’, and some words that describe splendor include excellence, magnificence and impressiveness.

When David was surrounded by challenges and threats, what He desired to do the most was to stay in God’s presence and to continually fix his eyes on the beauty of God. In the midst of the hostile decree in the land, Daniel still went on his knees to pray and give thanks to God 3 times a day like he usually did, (Dan.6:10). Don’t let anything stop you from keeping your eyes on God. As we fix our eyes on the beauty and glory of God, something happens to us. The glory of God reflects and radiates in our lives and in our situations, (Psa. 34:4-5). As we fix our eyes on God’s beauty and nature, His love and His joy fill our hearts and faith and strength fill our hearts also.

The beauty of God can be seen from the things God has made and the things He does in our lives, (Rom.1:20). However, nothing reveals God’s glory to us like Jesus does. God’s fullness dwells in Jesus (Col.2:9) and Jesus is the express image of God’s personality, (Heb.1:3). The glory of God is in the face of Jesus, (2Cor.4:6).

PRAYER:
Dear Father, please help me to always keep my eyes on your beauty and nature. Help me fill myself with the revelation of Christ.
