STIR UP AND MANIFEST THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT

1Corinthians 12:1, 7, 31 (NKJV), 1Corinthians 14:1 (NLT)

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.*Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives—especially the ability to prophesy.

Every believer has been given spiritual gifts and the purpose of spiritual gifts is to bless the lives of others. Paul said, “For I am yearning to see you, that I may impart and share with you some spiritual gift to strengthen and establish you,” (Rom.1:11, AMPC). Spiritual gifts help us minister and do God’s work effectively and they glorify Christ, (Acts 3:12-13). As gifts, we do not work or qualify for them. God wants us to desire the manifestation of spiritual gifts in our lives and He does not want us to be ignorant of them. We must therefore study and receive training on spiritual gifts.

To manifest spiritual gifts, you must be more conscious of Christ than of yourself. As you speak and act as if it is Christ speaking or acting, God will glorify Christ through you. Keep pressing into the fullness of Christ and growing in the Spirit. Spiritual gifts work by the faith of Christ and not by your feelings or emotions. Don’t be afraid to fail or make mistakes. Keep stirring up the gifts. Don’t give up or be discouraged.

Love is very important in stirring up and manifesting the gifts of the Spirit. As you let the love of God flow from your heart towards the person or people you are ministering to, the gifts of the Spirit will flow out of you to bless their lives. Keep being filled with the Spirit.

Prayer:
I thank you, Dear Father, for the gifts of the Spirit that you have given. Help me to stir them up and use them to bless lives.
