DON’T ALLOW IT (2)

1Samuel 17:34-36 (CEV)

But David told him: Your Majesty, I take care of my father’s sheep. And when one of them is dragged off by a lion or a bear, I go after it and beat the wild animal until it lets the sheep go. If the wild animal turns and attacks me, I grab it by the throat and kill it. Sir, I have killed lions and bears that way, and I can kill this worthless Philistine. He shouldn’t have made fun of the army of the living God!

Yesterday, we began looking at some lessons from David’s life about taking responsibility for ensuring that things don’t go wrong in our lives or in things we are responsible for. Why are you still allowing things to go that way when you know it is not the will of God for you? Sometimes, we wait for God to come down and do something about a situation when He has already empowered us to represent Him to manifest His power and will.

I remember when my husband, Archbishop Benson Idahosa, confronted the witches who wanted to hold a global meeting in Benin City. One of them said, “Even God cannot stop this meeting from holding” and my husband said to him, “God doesn’t need to stop you, because I am here, and I have said that meeting will not hold.” That meeting was eventually canceled.

Beloved, it is time for you to rise in faith and do exploits. Manifest God’s power and will in that area of your life or situation. You can do all things through Christ that strengthens you, (Phil. 4:13). Whatever you bind on earth is bound in Heaven, (Matt. 16:19). Pray about it and follow the leading of the Spirit. Like Esther, you can boldly take that risk to stop that evil from prevailing over the lives of others, (Esth. 4:16).

Prayer:
Father, I thank you for empowering me to do exploits in your name. Use me to stand in the gap and do things that will save others.
