Various ways Joseph display Spiritual Mindedness

Genesis 39:7-10(GNB)
After a while his master’s wife began to desire Joseph asked him to bed with her. He refused and said to her, Look my master….. Has put me in charge of everything he has…… and he has not kept back anything from me except you, How then could I do such an immoral thing and sin against God ? Although she asked Joseph day after day, he would not go to bed with her.

Joseph is another man who displayed a lot of spiritual Mindedness in various ways. Despite the enormity and persistence of the temptations from Potipha’s wife, Joseph refused to give in because his mind was focused on something other than the comfort and satisfaction of the flesh. He ran away! Honouring and please God was more important to Joseph than pleasing man or himself. Joseph loved what God loved and hated what God hated. He did not want to break God’s heart and he eventually experience an increase -divine promotion and lifting.

It took spiritual Mindedness for Joseph to notice the sad countenance of his two fellow prisoners who were servant of Pharoah. Joseph went further to inquire of their state and he interpreted their dreams to them. Joseph was caring, selfless and willing to Use his gift to serve, help and bless others. If Joseph was not spiritual minded, he would not even work so diligently that Potiphar and the head of the prison would notice him and promote him the way they did, (Gen. 39:3 & 22).

It was spiritual Mindedness that made Joseph refuse to hold a grudge against his brothers despite all they did to him, (Gen. 50:20-21). Instead, he had a divine perspective to all that happened and he continued to show them love.

Prayer:
Father, help me to always run away from whatever displease you. Help me by your spirit to care, show love and serve diligently
