RECALL AND THANK GOD FOR HIS SAVING AND INTERVENTION POWER (2)

1Samuel 17:37, Ephesians 2:4-5 (NLT)

David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. … *But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)

In our study yesterday, we saw how remembering God’s mercies and intervention power in our lives produces hope and strength in our hearts. You must never take lightly anything that God does for you. Value it, note it down, rejoice about it and thank God deeply for it. Keep remembering it and keep thanking God for it. This is what will make it produce hope and strength in your heart, and you will remember it.

Now, the greatest way God showed you His mercy and intervention power, was by redemption – rescuing you from sin and the devil’s power by the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. By making you a new creature and a bonafide member of His family. He gave you hope (1Pet.1:3), His precious promises (2Pet.1:4), power (Acts 1:8), and glorious inheritance, (Eph.1:18). He healed you (1Pet.2:24) and blessed you (Eph.1:3). He did all this for you even while you were still a sinner.

Your deep understanding and continuous appreciation of God for the great love and power God manifested as He saved you through Christ will continually fill your heart with faith, hope and strength. Paul kept remembering and thanking God for saving him, (Eph. 3:8, 1 Tim.1:15-16). That same power God used to save you through Christ, is always available for God to save you out of any situation you are in.

Action Point:
Think about the great love and power God manifested to save you through Christ. Thank God deeply for it.
