GOD HAS DONE IT

GENESIS 17:5 (NIV), 2CORINTHIANS 1:20 (NLT), HEBREWS 11:1 (NLT)

No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations. *For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory. *Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.

Real faith is not about what God will do, but about what God has done. Even though you hope for it, you already have the substance and evidence that it is done. In The Living Bible, our last test above says, “What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.”

God has already done it for you in Christ. The Bible says, “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” (Rom. 8:32, NIV). When God was giving you Jesus, He was also giving you everything you will ever need. Remember that while you were still a sinner, God included you in Christ and saved you, (Eph. 2:5-6). When you heard the Gospel, you received the salvation God had already carried out for you through Christ. When we hear the Gospel or ask God for anything, we receive what He has already done for us through Christ.

The Holy Spirit doesn’t show us the things God will freely give us; He shows us the things God has freely given us, (1Cor. 2:12). You are not going to be blessed; God has blessed you with all spiritual blessings in Christ, (Eph. 1:3). All God’s promises to you have already been fulfilled.

PRAYER:

FATHER, I REJOICE IN YOU, FOR I KNOW THAT IN CHRIST YOU HAVE BLESSED ME AND YOU MANIFESTED YOUR POWER AND GLORY IN MY LIFE.
