YOU HAVE GOD’S ABILITY TO BE PATIENT

Galatians 5:22-23a (KJV, TPT)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance:*But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit…

Patience is the nature of God in you that propels you to endure, persist, and persevere in every circumstance, just like God does. It’s the ability to bear your circumstances, no matter how long it takes. Despite how long it was taking for God’s promise of a child to manifest in the life of Abraham, the Bible indicates that he did not stagger at God’s promise. Instead, Abraham remained strong in faith, giving glory to God. He was fully persuaded that God would perform what He had promised Him, Rom.4:20-21. Beloved, God will perform what He has promised you.

We exercise patience towards God, towards people (especially as a leader) and even towards situations. Some versions of the Bible replace the word patience with the word ‘longsuffering’ or ‘leniency.’ The Amplified Bible uses ‘an even temper’ and ‘forbearance’ to expand the meaning of the word patience. Longsuffering or patience is greatly fueled by your consciousness of the faithfulness of God.

Remain steadfast in your faith and continue giving glory to God. Maintain a good attitude. The testing of your faith is putting your patience to work (James 1:3-4) and it’s building your character in preparation for the manifestation of your desire. Keep trusting in God’s great love for you, (Rom. 5:3-5).

Prayer:
Father, I thank you for your nature of patience in me that helps me to endure, persist and persevere without giving up.
