LIVING AND FUNCTIONING BY THE GRACE OF GOD

2Corinthians 1:12 (NIV, NLT) …we have conducted ourselves in the world, and… with you, with integrity and godly sincerity. We have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom but on God’s grace. *…we have lived with a God-given holiness and sincerity in all our dealings. We have depended on God’s grace, not on our own human wisdom. That is how we have conducted ourselves before the world, and…toward you.

Some believers do not have the right mindset and perspective of the grace of God. Some view the grace of God as something weak, or something they are not very sure of. When they say, “By the grace of God,” what they mean is, “I’m not so sure, but I hope for the best.” For some, the grace of God is just a cliche.

The grace of God is the sum total of all that Jesus has provided for us by His death, burial and resurrection. It is what the Gospel is about, (Acts 20:24, Gal. 1:6). “For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received [all had a share and we were all supplied with] one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even favor upon favor and gift [heaped] upon gift. For while the Law was given through Moses, grace (unearned, undeserved favor and spiritual blessing) and truth came through Jesus Christ.” John 1:16-17 (AMPC).

Does this sound like something weak, or something you should be unsure of? Instead of living by human wisdom, Apostle Paul lived his entire life from His understanding and consciousness of the grace of God (all Christ has done for him). The revelation of God’s grace shaped his worldview, and influenced his thoughts, words, and actions. It made him confident and honest in all his dealings.

Prayer:
Father, thank you for your grace that I have in Christ. Help me live by your grace and grow in the understanding of your grace
