DESIRE THE REVELATION OF YOUR SPIRITUAL REALITIES

John 16:12-15a (NIV)

“I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine….

Jesus had so much more to tell His disciples, but they could not bear it at that time. The things Jesus wanted to reveal to them were so glorious and mind-blowing. He wanted to reveal to them the spiritual realities, resources and possibilities that would be available to them because of His death, burial and resurrection. But at that time, they had not yet even understood and accepted that He had to die.

These glorious things that Jesus said the Holy Spirit will guide them into, are the things the Holy Spirit moved the apostles to write in the epistles (Romans to Revelation).

One of the major assignments of the Holy Spirit is to reveal Christ to us. He wants to open our eyes to Christ and the glorious things He has done for us. It is these revelations that will make us live the victorious and supernatural lives God wants us to live. This is why Paul prayed the kind of prayers he prayed for believers in Ephesians 1:15-20. We need to pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal the mysteries of Christ (our spiritual realities) to us, and we need to study the revelation of Christ for ourselves. Let the revelation of Christ dwell in you richly, (Col.3:16). The revelation of Christ and His grace builds us up, and gives us our inheritance (spiritual realities) – Acts 20:32.

Prayer:
Dear Father, I desire to grow in the understanding of my spiritual realities. Guide me by your Spirit into the revelation of Christ.
