GRACE TO TEACH AND SHOW CHILDREN THE WAY OF GOD EARLY

2TIMOTHY 3:14-16 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

Timothy was a very faithful and committed believer and leader, who worked diligently alongside Paul in God’s vineyard, (Phil.2:19-22). Paul described him as his son in the faith, (1 Tim.1:2). One of the reasons Timothy became the kind of believer and leader he was, was because, from childhood, his parents taught him the scriptures and showed him the way of God. They didn’t just tell him Bible stories, they taught him the things that would prepare him to be saved by faith in Christ. They taught him the Gospel.

One major purpose God has for our families is to raise godly seeds, (Mal.2:15). Like with Timothy’s family, God wants genuine faith in Christ to be seen and passed from generation to generation in our families, (2Tim.1:5). God told the Israelites to love Him with their entire being, put His word in their hearts, and diligently teach His words to their children. God told them to talk about His words all the time, and print His words everywhere possible, (Deut. 6:5-9). One reason Moses knew about Christ and became a mighty vessel for God must have been because his mother taught him about Christ, (Heb.11:23-27, Exo.2:1-10). Like Abraham, God has confidence in you that you will deliberately teach them His ways, (Gen.18:19). Take your children to church, teach them about Christ, show them the life of Christ.

FATHER, I THANK YOU FOR THE GRACE TO BE MORE DELIBERATE IN TEACHING AND SHOWING MY CHILDREN CHRIST.
