THE HEART CRY OF GOD

2Corinthians 5:18-20a (NLT)

And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us…

It is very important to continually rejoice and thank God for all He has done to save and reconcile us to Himself through Christ, but we must also remember that just as God has reconciled us, He has also given us the great privilege and responsibility to reconcile others to Him.

The way we carry out this great task of reconciling others to God, is by preaching the Gospel of the grace and love of God that has been freely made available to all through the sacrifice of Christ. God is no longer condemning or counting men’s sins against them, because Christ has paid for them. Now, God wants all men to put their faith in Christ and receive this wonderful love, salvation, and new life available for them. It is not God’s will for any man to perish, but for all to come to repentance, (2Pet. 3:9). Those who do not receive the free gift of God’s salvation through Christ will face God’s judgment of eternal condemnation and separation from Him. Apostle Paul persuaded men because he didn’t want them to face the terror of God, (2Cor.5:11).

We are saved to save others. Evangelism is our supreme task. Preaching the Gospel is as important as what Jesus did on the Cross. Until people hear about what Christ has done for them, they cannot be saved. This is God’s hear cry and it should be our heart cry too.

Prayer Focus:
Tell God you are available for the task that He has given you to preach the Gospel. Ask Him to use you to save others.
