DEPENDING ON GOD
TEXTS: Dan 3:8-30, Psa 62:5-12
KEY VERSE:
Isaiah 26:3
“You will keep [him] in perfect peace, [Whose] mind [is] stayed [on You,] Because he trusts in You.”
INTRODUCTION:
Our God is all powerful and with Him nothing shall be impossible. God demands absolute trust and confidence from His people. He will not share His glory with anyone. For He says, “my strength is made perfect in weakness” (2Corin 12:9)
QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION.
QUESTION 1. WHAT DO WE MEAN BY “DEPENDING ON GOD”? (Prov 3:5-7; Psa 27:1; Psa 28:7)
I. To depend on God is to have absolute confidence in God’s word and His power
II. It is relying on the support of God in order to exist
III. To put our total trust on God
IV. Is to be certain that God is able and that He cannot lie
QUESTION 2. HOW CAN ONE DEPEND ON GOD ?
I. To know God by being saved (Jn 3:3-5, Dan 11:32)
II. To establish a deep relationship and fellowship with Him (1 Cor 1:9; Acts 17:28)
III. To know His word (Josh 1:8; Col 3:16)
IV. To be filled and led by His spirit (Eph 5:18; Rom 8:14)
V. To walk by faith (Heb 11:6)
QUESTION 3.
I. It is the command of God (Exo 20:4)
II. He is the only one that has enough strength to support us. (Matt 28:18; Isa 26:4)
III. He is the only one who answer (Psa 65:2)
IV. He is the one who can do all things (Mk 10:27)

CONCLUSION
From ages past, God has never failed any one that depended on Him. This God is still the same yesterday, today and forever more (Heb 13:28). You can depend on Him. There is a danger in depending on the arm of flesh (Jer 17:5)
