HOW GOD BLESSES ALL NATIONS THROUGH ABRAHAM’S SEED

Galatians 3:8-9 (NLT), John 8:56 …the Scriptures looked forward to this time when God would make the Gentiles right in his sight because of their faith. God proclaimed this good news to Abraham long ago when he said, “All nations will be blessed through you.” So all who put their faith in Christ share the same blessing Abraham received because of his faith. *Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. 

When God said, “And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed…” (Gen. 22:18), the seed of Abraham God was referring to, was not Isaac, but Christ. Galatians 3:16 (NIV) says “The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,” meaning one person, who is Christ.” Beloved, by your faith in Christ, you have put on Christ, and you too have become Abraham’s seed (Gal.3:27-29).

The way God blesses all the nations of the earth through Abraham’s seed is not merely by giving people wealth and material things. Remember that Abraham’s seed is Christ. The way God blesses all nations of the earth through Abraham’s seed, is by granting all nations of the earth His salvation through Christ (as we preach the Gospel). Acts 3:25-26 (LITV) says, “You are sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God appointed to our fathers, saying to Abraham, “Even in your Seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Having raised up His child Jesus, God sent Him first to you, blessing you in turning away each one from your iniquities.” If you read our first text above again, you’ll see that when God was telling Abraham that all nations will be blessed through him, what God was talking about was how He will make people right in His sight by their faith in Christ.

Prayer:
Father, I thank you for the great privilege to actualize your plan of blessing all nations, as I preach the Gospel of Christ.
