YOUR THANKSGIVING/GRATITUDE IS A SEED
Psalms 67:5-6, 1Thessalonians 5:18, Psalms 107:1, Luke 17:17
*Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
*In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
*O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
…Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
Every time you are being thankful, you are setting yourself up for greater reasons to be thankful. Just like when you are faithful with little, you will be given more; when you are thankful for little you will also be given more. When you value what you have, it will multiply and increase. When you do not value what you have, you may eventually lose what you have. When you are thankful for little, God will open your eyes to see the great potential in it, so that you can maximize it. When God wants to do great things in your life, He always starts with what you have in your hand – the seeds He has given you already, (John 6:11).
Jesus went to Jerusalem and after healing ten lepers, only one of them went back to look for Jesus and give thanks, (Luke 17:12-19). He did not take what had happened for granted. He glorified God with a loud voice and he fell on his face at the feet of Jesus giving thanks. Jesus said “Were there not ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?” Jesus was waiting and expecting them to come back and give thanks. He had another gift for them. He wanted to make them whole. Only the one who came back received this gift and harvest of wholeness. Never have an attitude of over-familiarity or a mindset of entitlement. It can produce ingratitude in you and cheat you out of the greater harvests God has in store for you. Also, learn to be grateful to people.
Action Point:
Think about specific manifestations of God’s goodness, mercies and faithfulness, and give Him thanks from your heart.
