HOW VALUABLE IS THE REVELATION OF CHRIST TO YOU?

Philippians 3:7-9a (NLT)

I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with him.

God is not against your acquiring knowledge, wealth and achieving great things. He richly gives us all things to enjoy but He does not want us to become covetous nor high minded because of any of these things, (1Tim. 6:10, 17). Jesus said, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.” (Luke 12:15, NKJV). The soul of one man is worth more than all the wealth in the world (Mark 8:36), but the real potential of the soul of man can only be fulfilled by the nature and life of Christ that is received. It is only through Christ that we can know, experience and become all that God truly made us for.

This is why the greatest thing you must value in life is the revelation of Christ – knowing Christ and all He has achieved for you by His death, burial, and resurrection. This is what makes you give yourself to it as you should. You are dead and it is Christ’s life you are living now, (Col. 3:3-4, Gal. 2:20). There is nothing that can impact and transform your life as much as the revelation of Christ can. The revelation of Christ impacts your life both now and in eternity. The Gospel/revelation of Christ is the power of God, (Rom. 1:10). It is as powerful as the physical presence of Jesus, (Rom. 10:6-8). It builds us up and transforms us into the image of Christ, (Matt. 16:15-18, 2Cor. 3:18).

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please open my eyes to the revelation of Christ and help me to fill my heart with it more and more.
