PRESS INTO CHRIST

Philippians 3:10-12 (NLT)

I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead! I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.

As believers in Christ, our goal is not to make Heaven; we are already citizens of Heaven. Heaven is our home. When we are done with our assignment on earth we will go back home. Our goal is to obtain the glory of Christ, (2Thes. 2:14). To walk in the fullness of the nature, power, and glory of Christ. This is why Christ gave His life for us and this is what He wants us to press into. Apostle Paul said he preached to make all men perfect (mature) in Christ; not to make Heaven. God wants us to occupy till He comes; not fold our hands and wait/hope for Heaven. As we become more like Christ, we will function more like Him and do more exploits for Him. Because of this, when we get to Heaven we will get more rewards, (Rev. 22:12).

Christ is what pleases God (Matt. 3:17). As our lives conform to Christ, our lives are more pleasing to God. God’s testimony of you is that it is the same life that is in Christ that is in you, (1John 5:11-12). When you are pressing into Christ, you are pressing into your real identity. For you are one with Christ now, (1Cor. 6:17, 1John 4:17). Christ is your life (Col. 3:4). We press into Christ by feeding on (studying) the revelation of who Christ is and all He has done for us, (Col. 3:16). We press into Christ by praying in line with this revelation and living our lives in line with this revelation.

Action Point:
Pray in the Spirit right now and tell God you want to know Christ more and walk in more of His fullness.
