COMMISSIONED AND EMPOWERED FOR THE SUPERNATURAL

TEXT: ISAIAH 8:18, JOHN 20:21, JOHN 14:12
Key Verse: Isaiah 8:18, “Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in Mount Zion.”
: In Isaiah 8:18, Isaiah declares that he and the children given by the Lord are for signs and wonders in Israel. This study delves into the truth that God has commissioned and empowered believers for the supernatural, just as He did with Jesus.
STUDY:

  1. UNDERSTANDING YOUR COMMISSION:
  • Jesus said, “As my Father hath sent me, even so, send I you” (John 20:21). This means that just as God sent Jesus into the world to fulfill His divine purpose, He has also sent believers with a specific commission to carry out His work on earth.
  • Believers are commissioned to proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, and demonstrate the power of God through signs and wonders (Mark 16:15-18).
  1. EMPOWERED FOR GREATEST WORKS :
  • Jesus assured His disciples that those who believe in Him will do the works He did and even greater works (John 14:12).
  • This empowerment comes through the Holy Spirit, who anoints and strengthens believers to operate in the supernatural (Acts 1:8).
  1. EMBRACING THE SUPERNATURALLY AS NORMAL:
  • The supernatural was a normal part of Jesus’ ministry, and it should be the same for believers (Matthew 8:27, Mark 6:2).
  • Believers are anointed by the Holy Spirit to preach the Gospel, heal the sick, cast out demons, and perform miracles (Acts 10:38, Mark 16:17-18).
