1 Peter 1:13 (CEV) Be alert and think straight. Put all your hope in how kind God will be to you when Jesus Christ appears.

1 John 3:2-3 (CEV) My dear friends, we are already God’s children, though what we will be hasn’t yet been seen. But we do know that when Christ returns we will be like him, because we will see him as he truly is. This hope makes us keep ourselves holy, just as Christ is holy.

There is no amount of God’s glory and goodness that we will experience on this earth that will be compared to the fullness of God’s glory and goodness that we shall receive when Christ returns. It is a glory that will reflect even in our bodies. For our bodies will be just like the body Jesus has right now. This is the hope that God has set before us. This is what He wants to give us. This is why He saved us. We must never lose sight of this hope, Col. 1:23. Rather we should let this hope influence the way we live our lives now as we wait and prepare it. There is a glorious life beyond this life we are currently living on the earth right now.

In 1 Corinthians 15:19 (NLT), Apostle Paull said, “And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world.” In verse 32-34 he went further to say, “and what value was there in fighting wild beasts – those people of Ephesus – if there will be no resurrection from the dead? And if there is no resurrection, ‘Let’s feast and drink, for tomorrow we die! Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.” Think carefully about what is right, and stop sinning. For to your shame I say that some of you don’t know God at all. “Don’t live like you don’t know God or you don’t have a hope beyond this life. Three things we must continue doing as we keep our eyes on this hope of the fullness of God’s glory are: to keep living holy, keep preaching the gospel of Christ and commit ourselves to finish the commission and assignments God has given us, Rev. 22:12.

Prayer:

I thank You, Dear Father, for the fulness of your glory that I will receive when Christ returns. May I never lose sight of this hope.
