SOW TO THE SPIRIT

Galatians 6:7-8 (AMP)

Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (…by His precepts being set aside.) … For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap. For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

To sow to the Spirit is to yield yourself to the leading of the Spirit of God. Here, you are the seed, and as you yield to Him, the Holy Spirit nurtures and cultivates the life of God in you. Yielding to the Spirit is refusing to allow our flesh, feelings, or senses to rule our perceptions and decisions. To yield to the Spirit, we must desire the things of God and the Spirit. Our minds must be filled with the things of God and the Spirit, (Rom. 8:5-6). Yielding to the Holy Spirit opens up our lives to reap more and more of the life and peace of God and yielding to the evil desires of our flesh, disconnects us from the life and will of God.

As you give yourself to the Spirit, you become more sensitive to Him. Every time you sow/yield yourself to the Spirit, you are laying up treasures for yourself in Heaven, (Matt.6:20-21). You became born again through the help of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor.12:3b), and now He wants to help you grow up and be all that God wants you to be. On our own, we cannot overcome the desires and temptations of the flesh. It is only as we yield to the Spirit that we have victory over the flesh and we don’t fulfil the lusts of the flesh, (Gal.5:16). It was by the Spirit that Jesus offered Himself without spot to God, (Heb.9:14). You no longer owe your flesh anything. Stop yielding to it. Stop allowing it to destroy your life. Yield to the Spirit and put the flesh to death, (Rom. 8:12-14)

Prayer:
Father, I yield myself to your Spirit. I desire to please you always. Thank you for helping me to overcome the flesh.
