YIELD YOURSELF TO GOD’S MIGHTY HAND AND POWER

1Peter 5:6 (LB, NLT), Philippians 2:13 (LB, NLT)

If you will humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, in his good time he will lift you up. *So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. *For God is at work within you, helping you want to obey him, and then helping you do what he wants. *For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

Our focus today is on a special way God wants us to humble ourselves under His mighty hand and power.

Isaiah 53:1 says “Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the ‘arm of the LORD’ revealed?” In the verses that follow, the Bible tells us about Christ’s redemptive work on the cross. This means that the way God revealed His arm and power was by sending Jesus to suffer, die for us, be buried and rise again for our salvation. Christ’s redemptive work on the cross is God’s greatest work. One way we can yield to God’s mighty hand is by filling ourselves with the revelation of all Christ did for us by the cross, and allowing God use this revelation to form Christ in us. Remember that the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation (Rom.1:16).

If you don’t understand what God has done for you through Christ, you will not be able to cooperate with God and yield yourself to Him as you should. All that God is doing in your life right now, is based on the work He accomplished you via the redemptive work of Jesus. By His Spirit, God wants you to understand the divine work He is doing in your life through Christ, and yield yourself more to Him, so He can perfect His work of forming Christ in you and manifesting His glory through you.

Prayer:
Dear Father, I yield myself to your mighty hand and power at work in my life, as the revelation of Christ is filling my heart.
