ARE YOU EXERCISING THE GREAT POWER AND AUTHORITY OF JESUS?

John 16:23, 26 (NIV), Mark 11:23 (NIV)
In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. *In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. *“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.

The day Jesus was referring to in our first text above was the new dispensation that was going to dawn upon the earth after His death, burial and resurrection. We are in that day now, and the reason Jesus said we won’t need to ask Him anything, is because in this day we have His same power and authority and we are representing Him on the earth. Right now, Jesus has given us the same access and relationship with God the Father that He has.

One major way we activate and exercise this great power and authority of Christ we have received is by speaking boldly in the authority of Jesus. There is a time to pray to God the Father about a situation, and there is a time to speak to the situation (John 11:41-43). In both situations, expect the same response as Jesus. Just like Jesus did, you have to be bold enough to speak to things and situations in your life. Jesus spoke to a tree (Mark 11:12-14) and stormy winds (Mark 4:39) and they responded to Him. You can speak to your health, finances, marriage, academics, job, ministry in the power and authority of Jesus and they will respond to you. Where the word of a king is there is power (Eccl. 8:4). God has made you a king and a priest to reign on this earth, (Rev. 5:10). When you give voice to God’s word, the angels of God listen and carry out what you are saying, (Psa.103:20).
