THANK GOD FOR MAKING YOU ONE WITH CHRIST

1CORINTHIANS 6:17 (KJV, GNB), 1 JOHN 4:17 (TPT), EPHESIANS 5:30 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. *But he who joins himself to the Lord becomes spiritually one with him. *By living in God, love has been brought to its full expression in us so that we may fearlessly face the day of judgment, because all that Jesus now is, so are we in this world. *For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

There are three powerful illustrations used in the Bible to show that God has made us one with Christ. One is that of head and body. Several scriptures like Ephesians 1:22-23 and Ephesians 4:15-16, show us that Christ is the Head and we are His Body. Your head and your body are one. It is the same life that flows in the head that flows in the body. You are one with Christ. The same life that flows in Christ flows in you.

Another illustration is that of a husband and wife. In Ephesians 5:23-25, Paul uses the analogy of husband and wife, to describe the relationship between Christ and the church. Just as a man becomes one with his wife in marriage, we – the church, have become one with Christ now. Everything Christ owns now belongs to us. The Bible says we are joint heirs with Him, (Rom. 8:17). As a woman takes on the name of her husband, we have also received the name (authority) of Christ. Now we can pray to God the Father and do exploits in His name (authority).

The third analogy is that of a building. In 1 Peter 2:5-7, Peter describes us as lively stones being built into a spiritual house where God dwells, and he describes Jesus as the chief cornerstone. The cornerstone is the most important part of a building. It is the rock upon which the weight of the entire building rests. The foundation and the building are one.

PRAYER:

FATHER, I THANK YOU FOR MAKING ME ONE WITH CHRIST. PLEASE HELP ME GROW IN THE UNDERSTANDING AND CONSCIOUSNESS OF THIS GLORIOUS TRUTH.
