KEEP REMEMBERING THE GOSPEL

1Corinthians 15:1-2 (KJV, ESV)
“… I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which…ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye…believed in vain. *Now I …remind you… of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.”

Romans 4:20-21 (GNB) says, “My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen to my words. Never let them get away from you. Remember them and keep them in your heart.” It is very important that we keep the Gospel/revelation of Christ fresh in our hearts. For this to happen, we must keep hearing/studying it, and keep remembering/fixing our minds on it. This is what keeps our faith alive and it makes us continue to experience and manifest the will of God for our lives. The faith of God doesn’t come by the Gospel you heard, but by the Gospel you are hearing and hearing and hearing, (Rom. 10:17).

Colossians 1:21-23 shows us that Jesus has reconciled us to God by His death, and He will present us holy, unblameable, and unreproveable in His sight if we continue in the faith, grounded and settled and not moved away from the hope of the Gospel. For us to continue in the faith and become established, we must continue giving ourselves to the hearing and studying of the Gospel. We must continue walking in Jesus the same way we received Him, rooted, built up in the faith as we have been taught and abounding therein with thanksgiving, (Col. 2:6-7).

In the verses that follow our text above, Apostle Paul explains that the Gospel is the revelation of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

P R A Y E R:

Father, please help me to keep hearing, studying, and remembering the Gospel of Christ at all times.
