TOPIC: The Growth and Increase of the Church

TEXT: Ephesians 4: l 5-16 (AMPC)

KEY VERSE: Ephesians 4:15-16 (AMPC) -“.let our lives lovingly express truth
enfolded in love, let us grow up in every way and in all things into Him Who is the
Head, even Christ (…). For because of Him the whole body (the church…), closely
joined and firmly knit together by the joints and ligaments with which it is supplied when each part [..] is working properly [in all its functions], grows to full maturity building itself up in love.

INTRODUCTION: The church, as the Body of Christ, is called to grow and increase in every aspect. As believers, we are empowered by God to fulfill His purposes on earth and to expand His kingdom. This study will explore the importance of growth and increase within the church and how each member plays a vital role in its development.

STUDY:

1. The Significance of the Church:

• Reflect on the importance of the church in fulfilling God’s purposes on earth.
• Discuss Matthew 16:18 and the assurance Jesus gave regarding the unstoppable nature of the church.
  -Explore Acts 6:1-7 and Acts 9.31. How does God equip and strengthen the church to overcome challenges and experience growth.

1. The Growth of the Gospel:

• Reflect on Acts 19:20. How is the Gospel of Christ growing mightily and
  prevailing in the world?
• Discuss Acts 2:47 and the daily addition of souls to the church. What role do
  believers play in sharing the Gospel and leading others to Christ?
• Reflect on the importance of unity and love within the church, as mentioned in
  Psalm 133:1.

1. Prayer and Participation for Church Growth:
   -Reflect on the importance of prayer for the growth and incre ase of the church.

• Discuss ways in which each member can contribute to the growth of the church,
  such as serving, evangelizing, and supporting one another.
  -Encourage believers to actively play their part in building up the church and
  advancing God’s kingdom on earth.

CONCLUSION:
As the Body of Christ, the church is called to grow and increase in every aspect. Through unity, love, and faithful service, believers can
contribute to the expansion of God’s kingdom on earth. Let us be diligent in prayer, steadfast in our commitment to the Gospel, and active in our participation in the growth and increase of the church, knowing that God is at work in and through us to fulfill His purposes.
