THE POWER OF HAVING A VICTORIOUS PERSPECTIVE OF CHALLENGES (2)
Matthew 13:3, 5-6, 21 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. …when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
The reason the seeds on the stony ground withered away when scorched by the heat of the sun, was they had no root in them. This root they didn’t have is the right perspective of challenges. This is why they got offended, forgot about the word and acted in fear and in the flesh.
The heat of the sun in this parable refers to tribulation or persecution that arose because of the word. What does this mean? A believer does not face tribulation and persecution because there is something wrong with him/her. Tribulation and persecution are ingredients or opportunities for the word of God to grow, mature and manifest in our lives. Therefore, that challenge is not against you. It is for you. Don’t see it as something strange (1Pet. 4:12). Don’t get offended and don’t resort to acting in fear and the flesh because you don’t understand why it is happening, or why that person is treating you that way. It is working for your good. Imagine what would have happened if Joseph got offended by all he was going through and began to misbehave, (Psa. 105:16-22).
When you get a victorious perspective of your challenges, you’ll start rejoicing/having a joyful victorious attitude to them, (James 1:2-4). You will remain conscious of God’s love as the life and nature of Christ grows and manifests in you in that situation, (Rom.5:3-5, Rom.8:35-37).
Prayer:
Father, I thank you for by your love and wisdom, I am empowered to approach and exercise victory over my challenges.
