RECALL AND THANK GOD FOR HIS SAVING AND INTERVENTION POWER (1)

1SAMUEL 17:37, EPHESIANS 2:4-5 (NLT)
David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine...But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)

Our ability to constantly remember the mercies God has shown us is a major way for faith and hope to be stirred up in our hearts, (Lam.3:21-22). When the Israelites referred to God as the God of their salvation, they were referencing how God delivered them in the past (especially from Egypt), and that gave them hope that God would deliver them and manifest His power in their lives again. David said “Praise the Lord, who carries our burdens day after day; he is the God who saves us. Our God is a God who saves; he is the LORD, our Lord, who rescues us from death.” (Psa. 68:19-20, GNB).

As Jehoshaphat began to pray when he was faced with a threat from three different nations, the first thing he did was to remind God of the victories God had granted them in the past, (2Chron. 20:5-8). When the angel of God appeared to Gideon to inform him that he would deliver Israel, Gideon said, “…and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? But now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?” (Judg.6:13-14). There’s a divine might produced in you as you remember God’s mercies in your life.

THINK ABOUT VARIOUS WAYS GOD HAS SHOWN YOU HIS GOODNESS AND MANIFESTED HIS POWER IN YOUR LIFE. THANK HIM FOR THEM.
