Topic: Constant Evaluation

“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves…” (2 Corinthians 13:5)

Welcome to this wonderful New Year, this is a year God has ordained to make life beautiful for you. For you to align with God’s will for you this year, you should make it a constant habit to evaluate yourself. Just as an auditor who works in an audit or accounting firm, you will know that you are required to look at your work over and again before final submission. Especially when you write for an external audience, or audit a firm outside your jurisdiction, you understand that there exists zero tolerance for errors.

One little error can change the meaning or analysis of your work and cause your credibility to be altered, So it is with life in general. As Christians, in the process of becoming who God has appointed you to be this year, there is a need to constantly evaluate yourself to be sure you are on the right track. Examine your character, work, relationships, values and conduct.

Although, there might be areas in which you can boldly say you are doing well, you might have also gotten applauds and credits from people for your attitude or composure. Nevertheless, deep within you know, that there is need to improve so as to align with God’s standard for you.

In other to attain the height God has ordained for you this year, there is an urgent need for self-evaluation. You can begin by asking yourself genuine questions concerning the various aspects of your life such as; Are there areas I need to improve, am I taking the right steps, hanging around the right company, performing the right tasks and basically am I on the right path to my destiny. If not, then you must make amends.

More so, you can have personal appraisal journal, write and evaluate your visions and dreams, your strength and weaknesses, your achievements over the previous years, your relationship with God and man alike, be genuine to write done the areas that needs to be adjusted, changed and amended. In addition, go to God in Prayer and seek his help and guidance, however do not rule out to seek godly counsels in areas you need to improve because the bible admonished in Proverbs 11:14 “where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety. However, note that your checks aren’t just to occur once; you must constantly conduct self- evaluation to be sure you are still in line and have improved from the last time you checked. Your constant evaluation and adjustments brings you to the path of perfection. You will not miss it in the name of Jesus!

God is a God of covenant and the benefits of the covenant are only available to those who have a covenant relationship with Him. He said in his Word: Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice Psalms 50:5. You can become a part of those in covenant with Him by praying this simple prayer with me inviting Jesus Christ into your heart as your Lord and personal Saviour: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.

Congratulations! If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).
