Topic: Making Your Day Special

Text: Isaiah 6:1-8 (KJV)

1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Key Verse: “In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.” – (Isaiah 6:1)

MESSAGE:

There are few days in our lives that are worth remembering and putting down in our daily journals or diaries. Usually, those days start off like every other day without often giving any clue that it will end up being a very significant thing that is worth ever remembering.

Prophet Isaiah in our text, no doubt had such a day. This very special event in his life happened in the year that King Uzziah died. Being a prophet himself, it was not the first time Isaiah would be having an encounter with the Lord but this day’s encounter completely changed everything about his life and ministry. He saw a greater revelation of the Lord and His holiness that exposed the weakness and deep lack in his life. He seized the opportunity of the day to rise above his present spiritual level and state. He cried to the Lord, admitting his present weakness and willingness to accept the call to a greater service. It was a day never to be forgotten for him.

No doubt, we have some very special and positively significant days that we always want to remember. But we must note that making a day significant depends greatly on what we choose to do with the day and how we seize the opportunities that present themselves to us each day.

If we will change our attitudes and determine to make the best use of each moment we have with God, His vision will become clearer to us and His voice more definite. Each of such moments will bring us into an encounter that will so transform our lives and leave us with evergreen and sweet memories. God is too great and has such a fathomless depth that we cannot fully exhaust even if we spend all our lives drawing from it each day! There is something new we can always hear and see from God every day.

Thought For The Day: There is something new from God each day.
