TOPIC: His Glory Changes Us! (DCLM Daily Manna 29 January 2022)
TEXT: Isaiah 6:1-8 (KJV)
1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.
6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
KEY VERSE: “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” – (Isaiah 6:8)

MESSAGE:
There are some experiences that permanently change the direction of our lives and our views about life – for good or bad.
Prophet Isaiah had an encounter that changed his life and ministry for good. His encounter was a revelation of God, His holiness and glory. Prior to this time, the prophet, Isaiah, never imagined there was anything that needed change or improvement in his life. His preaching and messages before this time had been directed to the sins, shortcomings and failures of others with a call for them to repent. He never thought there was need for personal purging and cleansing in his life. But as he saw this glorious revelation of the majesty of God and His holiness, his own personal weakness and impurity became obvious. God’s dazzling glory made his righteousness fade into insignificance. Seeing how far he was from God’s holiness, he cried out, admitting his uncleanness and need for purging. God saw through the sincerity of his cry and immediately cleansed and re-commissioned him.
This encounter attests to the fact that no man can truly see the glory of God and remain the same. It is appalling to hear some people declare that they had divine revelations of the glory of God and yet their personal lives do not change.
When we truly see the Lord’ glory, there will be a change in our self-assessment. We will realise who we are and our need for cleansing. Grace will alter sin and cause us to experience a regeneration and transformation.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
A glimpse of His glory reflects the true distance we keep from Him.
THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Romans 7-9
