The MESSAGE:

Faith is a veritable weapon and an indispensable companion to every believer who wants to fulfil his divine purpose in life. Your faith will determine whether you succeed or fail in life. It will determine whether 2019 will birth the fulfilment of your dreams or not. It will also determine whether you live through the New Year as a victor or a victim and whether you appropriate and enjoy your divine benefits or not. Faith is a spiritual force that converts what we desire to what we possess. It is an all-important element in the believer’s journey. That is why the Bible says the just shall live by faith.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). In the world, people say that seeing is believing but spiritually mature persons know that the demand of faith is that you believe even when you have not seen. Faith is also calling things which are not as if they were. Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and achieves the impossible. The Bible enjoins us to have faith in God and His Christ. Even the disciples of Jesus Christ, when they realised the importance of faith, begged Jesus to increase their faith. So, faith has size and magnitude. Faith can increase or decrease. Faith can be alive or dead. Faith can also fail. Jesus prayed that Peter’s faith would not fail in the face of satan’s attack and trials.

Why is faith so significant as a weapon and companion for us in our journey, especially 2019? Here are some of the cogent reasons: Faith assures success (2 Chronicles 20:20), faith is our fundamental duty as believers (John 6:28), faith is a defensive weapon (Ephesians 6:16), faith is an indispensable element in religion (Hebrews 1:16), faith is essential in prayer (James 1:5), faith should be united with love (1 John 3:23).

Beloved, what is the situation with your faith? If it is weak, you must strengthen it. Build your faith by reading and meditating on the word of God, by praying in the Spirit and in understanding and praising God always. Remember that these spiritual exercises can help your faith to grow or increase, keep it from failing and make you succeed phenomenally in secular and spiritual spheres of life.

Peter said in Acts 3 that by faith in the precious name of Jesus was the crippled man made whole. Faith in the all-powerful name of Jesus and the exercise of that faith will make a big and positive difference in your life this year and beyond.
