TOPIC: Return On Investment (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 25 July 2019)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalm 37-39; Acts 26

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Exodus 3:1-10

MEMORY VERSE: “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them.” – Ecclesiastes 12:1

The MESSAGE:

God is a God of purpose. When He calls you, it is for a purpose. When He anoints you, it is for a purpose. Your calling and anointing are investments from God upon your life. God wants you to use His investment on your life to solve problems, bring Him return on investment and then get His reward. The bigger the problem you solve for God and His kingdom, your nation, etc., the bigger your reward. If you want God to take you to a high level, you must be ready to face confrontations, tackle challenges and solve problems.

When Moses encountered God in the burning bush, his call and his assignment was made clear to him. God also equipped him with the ability to speak, turned his ordinary shepherd’s rod to a supernatural weapon and provided Aaron to assist him in the journey, though reluctantly. What did Moses do with these divine investments? He confronted Pharaoh and the powers of Egypt. He did not stop carrying out his assignment until the gods of Egypt bowed to Jehovah, his people were released from age-long Egyptian captivity and Pharaoh as well as his army, horses and chariots were buried in the Red Sea. Similarly, after Gideon had encountered the angel of the Lord, the once fearful fellow became a man of valour by divine decree. He used God’s investment in his life to confront and defeat the Midianites. That was his own assignment and he did it successfully, using the resources of heaven and the earth that God provided for him. Also in Luke 4:17-18, Jesus read the Scriptures on a Sabbath day and announced His mission. He said that the Spirit of the Lord was upon Him to carry out specific assignments attached to his destiny. From that moment Jesus went about doing good, healing the sick and setting free those that were oppressed of the devil. He confronted and conquered the devil, demons as well as human agents of the enemy.

Beloved, I want you to realise that everything spiritual and physical God has given you is for you to use in advancing the cause of His kingdom and in fulfilling your divine purpose on earth. The skills and competencies God has given you, the talents and potentials, the time, money and resources He put at your disposal are meant for you to use in solving problems and making life better and worthwhile for people. You are to use them to serve God and serve others. The simple lesson we need to learn here is that God does not waste His resources. He expects return on His investment in your life. Jesus Christ impressed the Father so much that He earned the reward of a name that is above all other names. When you give God worthwhile return for His investment in your life, He will do more for you and give you a very great reward. God used Joseph, David, Daniel, Elijah to solve national problems. He also used the apostles to solve global spiritual problems. I pray that God will make you a solution provider this year, in Jesus’ name.
