TOPIC: Praise Triumphs Gloriously (II) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 28 July 2019)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalm 46-48; Acts 28

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 5:13-20

MEMORY VERSE: “And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?” – Matthew 21:16

The MESSAGE:

Yesterday, we read about how Paul and Silas sang hymns and praises directly from their hearts and God intervened in their situation. The relationship between their song of praise and their supernatural deliverance through the earthquake cannot be overlooked. Praise directed toward God can shake open prison doors! A man was converted, his household saved and satanic captivity overthrown in Philippi. Today as well, praise will cause every chain of bondage to drop away from your life. When you are serving God and things do not go the way you planned, praise God from the bottom of your heart. God will show up in your situation and give you the needed help!

Praise makes room for God’s blessing over our lives (Psalm 100:4 and Ephesians 1:3). Praise invites His presence (Psalm 22:3; 1 Peter 2:9). Praise paves the way for God’s power to be displayed and for miracles to happen (Acts 16:25-26). A lifestyle of praise is essential for keeping and improving our relationship with God. Praise gives us access to God. With that access, we tap into the power of grace, wisdom and all other resources of God.

Praise changes us just as it changes things. Proverbs 27:21 says, “As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is a man to his praise.” Praise changes man’s heart, mindsets and situations. Praise shifts our focus from us to God, from problem to solution and from pain to promise and from hurt to hope.

Lastly, praise is a weapon for defeating the enemy. In Judges 1:1-2 we read, “Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass, that the children of Israel asked the LORD, saying, Who shall go up for us against the Canaanites first, to fight against them? And the LORD said, Judah shall go up: behold, I have delivered the land into his hand.” The name Judah means praise (Genesis 29:35). God told PRAISE to go in first to the enemy. Praise entered the battle first. In this particular battle, Judah defeated the Canaanites, Perizzites and killed Adoni-Bezek. It was also praise that turned the allied forces that rose against Jehoshaphat and Judah against one another and gave God’s people unbelievable victory.

In 2 Chronicles 20:21, King Jehoshaphat “appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.” The choir and the orchestra went ahead of the warriors! It worked. The enemies were defeated and Judah never even had to take out their swords!

How many battles do we needlessly fight; drawing our swords of worry, our shields of fear, and our words of war? What would happen if we simply trusted that the Lion of the Tribe of Judah has already won the battle? Beloved, when you lift your voice in praise to the Most High, you have taken up a weapon more potent than any physical weapon of war you can imagine. Praise triumphs gloriously!
