TOPIC: Be Security Conscious (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 29 July 2019)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalm 49-50; Romans 1

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Genesis 14:8-16

MEMORY VERSE: “Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.” – Psalms 122:7

The MESSAGE:

What must have prompted Abraham to train 318 men in his household in the art of war? The Patriarch was security conscious. The Bible says that God blessed Abraham in all things. He had plenty of gold, silver and cattle. He had numerous servants also. Three hundred and eighteen or more of these were men and he prepared them for war in times of peace. Fortunately, when four kings waged war against five other kings (including the king of Sodom and Gomorrah), the other king prevailed and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled. They captured Lot, Abraham’s brother’s son and Lot’s goods were captured.

Both Abraham and Lot had wealth, though Abraham was wealthier. He was operating under God’s covenant. The difference however, was that Lot was not security conscious. He did not understand the principle of eternal vigilance. When you have wealth, you must think of securing your wealth. If you are a man of great possession, you must put in place security strategies and devices to protect you and your living and non-living possessions from the wicked marauders and thieves. Lot lacked this divine wisdom and he paid dearly for it. When the neighbouring kings invaded his city, he was helpless. He was captured along with his family and valuable goods.

In the Book of Revelation, the Bible enjoins us to keep and guard what we have and not let anyone steal our crown. The Holy Book is only admonishing us to take security serious both physically and spiritually. When the Syrian army came to arrest Elisha and they surrounded where he stayed, Elisha was not worried because he knew that the hosts of heaven (angelic warriors) were with him. When he opened his servant’s eyes spiritually, the servants saw the angels of fire on guard. Elisha was spiritually and physically secured. You too can be in this enviable state Elisha was. All you need to do is to give your life to Jesus Christ and become a friend of God. Secondly, you must live in His will and be obedient to Him completely. You must also be a word addict and a prayer addict. Lastly, you must live a holy life. When you fulfil these conditions, God will assign His angels to be your security guards at all times. With that, you and all that belongs to you will be secured. Beloved, these are the end times and the enemy knows that his time is short. Be security conscious! May the Lord protect you and waste whoever or whatever wants to waste you, in Jesus’ name.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
ENSURING THAT YOU ARE SPIRITUALLY AND PHYSICALLY SECURED IS YOUR PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. DON’T IGNORE IT.

PROPHETIC WORD:
God will give His angels charge over you and they will keep you from all evil always.
