Topic: Putting God First
Avoid the temptation of doing other things first before speaking to God in the morning. Avoid the temptation of reading, writing or sending an email or a text message first thing in the morning before talking with God.
SCRIPTURE: But seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you put God first in the day, you connect the strength, wisdom, and Divine resources to handle that day.
In our previous study, we looked at the necessity of wisdom. We saw amongst other things that wisdom is needed to eliminate stress and struggles from our life.
Today, we shall be looking at one of the wisdom tips required for daily living.
To live wisely daily, you must determine to put God first in the day; let God take the first place in your day.
If you put God first in a day, that day must go well. If you allow God to take the first place in your day, the day must end well.

Mathew 6:33 says, But seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.
Genesis 19:27 shows that: …Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the Lord:
Avoid the temptation of doing other things first before speaking to God in the morning. Avoid the temptation of reading, writing or sending an email or a text message first thing in the morning before talking with God. Avoid the temptation of making phone calls in the morning before you remember to pray. Avoid the temptation of doing other things first in the morning before having time for God.
It was Martin Luther, the reformer who said, “I have so much to do today that I must spend the first three hours with God in prayer before starting the day”. Can you imagine that? However, for some people, the opposite is the case. They would say: “I have so much to do today that I don’t have enough time to pray.” But Martin Luther made up his mind that he must first spend three hours with God because he had so much things to do. He must spend three hours with God in prayer before God before stepping out to face the business of the day. That was wisdom!
When you put God first in the day, you connect the strength, wisdom, and Divine resources to handle that day. You connect the strength for the day because they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength (Isaiah 40:31). So, put God first in your day. Begin the day with God.
Remember this: When you put God first in the day, you connect the strength, wisdom, and Divine resources to handle that day.
